You may have already have paged through bridal magazines trying to decide what shape you would like your bridal bouquets to be, asked Google to run a search on flower meanings, or researched on Pinterest to figure out which flower speaks most to you. Perhaps you already have a unique flower in mind that is significant to your history, or maybe it is just the color that is the top priority. Either way, I would like to ask you an interesting question. Have you considered a bridal armature? or a diy wedding bouquet?

What is an armature you ask? First of all, it is something unique that has not already been pinned and liked by 3.5 million other brides. A floral armature is a decorative, supportive framework for a floral composition that is typically constructed from natural materials, such as branches. It is one of a kind piece that is composed for you and only you on your special day.

An armature is something unique that will not only make your day memorable but will also be a conduit that expresses you as an individual. Whether you are an outdoor adventurer, a fashionista, a modern Urban gal, or someone who loves bling, a good florist can make a one of a kind piece for you.

There are many ways to express your style using wood, metal, wire, wool, and even recycled materials to create the bones of the structure. For those who are more eco-conscious, common items such as cardboard, dry cleaner hangers, Ikea items, foam core scraps, and garden foliage are just the start!

One of my absolute favorite aspects of the armature is that the framework lasts forever. You can remove the flowers after they expire and keep the framework as a memento, and the flower too in some cases.

For example, if you are an outdoor adventurist, a succulent garden can be created using the structure with a dish that perfectly fits beneath. Succulents have been a major trend these last few years and are not going away. You can incorporate these and then replant them to watch your love blossom and grow.

Don’t be afraid to ask a florist to play outside of the box and create an armature for you and if you wanted to you can ask them on how to make a wedding bouquet. Please do your research and make sure this is a “normal” thing for that particular florist. Don’t be afraid to ask to see any previous work. Those of us florists who are labeled as weird, crazy, and unique will most definitely create something you never knew existed for you to cherish.
